Covenants & Coexistence.
A shared story, expressed through identity and space. Exhibition design for the International Museum of Muslim Cultures in Jackson, Mississippi, brings historical covenants and interfaith relationships into a visual visitor experience.
The challenge
The exhibition explores relationships among Muslim, Christian and Jewish communities through historical covenants and shared values. Its subject calls for a clear, welcoming visual language that connects historical material with the visitor's experience.
The design brings the exhibition title, interpretive graphics and physical environment together, allowing broad themes and individual details to be encountered at different scales.
Three traditions.
One connected identity.
The gold symbol brings a cross, crescent and Star of David above three connected arches. Deep green, ivory lettering and a restrained gold accent carry the exhibition title into its wider graphic language.
Meaning at every scale.
Large titles establish each theme. Text, maps, imagery and Arabic calligraphy provide further layers of interpretation. The views below show how individual panels relate to the surrounding displays and sightlines.
A story you move through.
Freestanding panels, display rails and models define moments of focused reading. Open views connect the covenants displays with the Prophets Tree, maps and a tent-like media area. These perspectives show the exhibition's spatial arrangement and design intent.

The exhibition brings identity, interpretive graphics and spatial design into one environment, connecting the title and its themes with the objects, displays and places for reflection.
