What makes Rissala Design different from other studios?
Rissala is led by an architect, not only a graphic designer. Identities are engineered like buildings — systems, proportion, rhythm and permanence — which is why brands we designed seven and fourteen years ago are still in use, unchanged, today.
What does “design that works” mean?
It means the work is judged by what it does, not how it looks in a portfolio. Beauty is the entry requirement; performance is the goal.
Do you work with Arab businesses and organizations in America?
Yes — it is a core focus. We are bicultural and bilingual, based in the United States, and understand how to speak with dignity to American audiences without losing cultural identity.
Can you create or adapt an Arabic identity for an existing brand?
Yes. Arabization is one of our signature services. We draw Arabic letterforms from calligraphic tradition so the Arabic version of your brand is designed, never merely translated.
Do you design exhibitions and physical spaces, or only brands?
Both — and often together. We design brand systems, exhibitions, museum experiences and complete spatial environments where identity, content, signage and place tell one story.
How do you use AI in your work?
AI accelerates the work; it never replaces the thinking. We use it to research deeper, test more directions and present faster while concept, taste and craft stay human.
What does a typical project cost and how long does it take?
Every engagement is scoped individually. We propose scope, phases, timing and a clear quotation after a first conversation.
How does the process start?
With listening. We begin with a deep understanding of your vision, then move through research, hand sketching, refinement and delivery — presenting directions at every stage.
Do you take interns or work with students?
Yes. We run a mentored internship for design students working on real projects under direct studio critique. See the Careers page.
What is the shop?
Our gift to people who love the work: original Arabic typography and culture-rooted art on shirts, hoodies and mugs at accessible prices. Visit the shop.
